John Benner's career as an editor, reporter and investigator has given him a front row seat to observe the world's wonders and inequities. Although his fiction reflects many of those lessons learned, he considers it a relief no longer to be compelled to write about the real stuff.
His most recent short story was published in the winter edition of The Westchester Review. His stories also have appeared in the Delmarva Review, Tower Journal, Penmen Review, Diverse Voices Quarterly and The Raven Review. He is working toward publication of two novels.
John's essays and articles have been published in The Washington Post and newspapers across the U.S., on subjects ranging from the cruelty of Christmas to why birds live inside Home Depot. He and his wife live in Washington, D.C.
